This is assessed by doing an Upper Endoscopy - David has done 2 of these, including May 26.

DAVID'S PORTAL VEIN VELOCITY - DAVID'S ULTRASOUND IN MAY 23 - 15.8 CM/S - DANGERSOUSLY LOW, NEAR DEATH

Normal portel vein velocity = 15-40 cm/s

ENLARGED SPLEEN

When the spleen is > 12 cm

PARAUMBILICAL VEIN 5.2 MM
A sign of portal hypertension - David has now reversed this to 2.8mm and not outward flow, which has been reversed to normal.
