Nutrition in advanced liver disease

First step – what about dieticians ? – believe them if you want to.

This is discussed in chapter xxxx.

Can your dietician answer the hard questions?

Do they have proof of any of any of their clients improving their liver?

Do they have medical proof of any particular food that improves liver enzyymes?

Do they provide each meal at least with a list of quantity of nutrients as per the Nutrition Information Panel plus any extras like iron and Omega 3?

First step – before you buy your food, get checked.

In the tradition of this book, we need to follow the proper medical steps before you can make a plan to restore your liver and associated condtions.

You have already read all of the previous chapters. It is best to follow the tried and true medical ways.

It is best to firstly get your bloods checked by your GP. Find out what abnormals you have, if any.

The bloods will give you and the GP and indication of what abnormals you have.

The bloods might give you and the GP an idea of what classification and stage of disease you might have.

Read the blood test chapter to find out what the 71 blood tests you need to get. This includes vitamin and mineral blood tests.

Eating certain foods is always a better solution to vitamin and mineral deficiences.

Just remember – GP’s don’t tell you what foods to eat. They only refer you to a dietician.

Next step – what foods can’t you eat

Do you have celic disease?

Are you allergic to any foods?

Does your condition require you to eat certain foods ? Example –

  • Cirrhosis patients need to limit sodium.
  • Diabetes patients might require less carbs.

Read the book to find out foods and diet is best in general for your individual needs. Talk to your doctor before proceeding

Do you know what the superfoods are ?

1. Blueberries

2. Avocado

3. Walnuts

4. Wild caught salmon
